Manthorpe secures contract with aerospace giant.

A contract to manufacture a significant number of metallic casings with a sales value of over £750,000 has been secured by Manthorpe Engineering. One of the enabling factors for this success is the alignment of the short to medium term manufacturing strategy of the company with that of the customer.
The contract will provide work for Manthorpe in both our MG50 and MG20 machine shops, utilising vertical turning and 5 axis multi-tasking machines respectively. The duration of the contract runs until the end of Q1 2018 with potential to be extended for a further 3 months. The run rate is set at 3 components per week.
Manthorpe’s short to medium term business strategy is to provide customers with a rapid turn-round time for NPI (New Product Introduction) including, as in this case, components required for an interim period.
In today’s fast paced, global aerospace sector the need to react quickly to market demand is evermore increasing and product development time continues to be squeezed. Our strategy and the investment into engineering technology and people will lay the foundations for continued success.
